The Broward County city of Deerfield Beach is a picturesque community located about twenty miles north of Fort Lauderdale. When it was incorporated in 1925, the city was named Deerfield for the masses of deer that roamed the banks of the Hillsboro River and the Beach part of the name was officially added in 1939.

Deerfield Beach was, in its early days, mainly an agricultural community. That began to change in 1940s though, as more and more people traveled to the city to enjoy all of the benefits of its scenic ocean front location.

The beach, known locally as Blue Wave, is of course a popular destination for those who own Deerfield Beach homes in their free time. Residents can even rent out areas of the boardwalk for beach weddings and they are a common site. Te beach itself is well preserved and lifeguards are on duty much of time to ensure everyone enjoys their beach time safely.

The area also offers great fishing and many locals enjoy spending time at the Deerfield Island Park which is located on a lush green island bordered by the Hillsboro Canal, and the Intracoastal and Royal Palm Waterways.
