The Town of Lantana is a coastal community in Palm Beach County, which still retains the charm of its origins as an old Florida fishing village. It is the 15th largest community of Palm Beach County's 38 cities, with a population of 10,422, and is noted as one of the oldest communities. Incorporated in 1921, Lantana encompasses an area of approximately 3 square miles.
The Town of Lantana's recreational facilities include an eight-acre municipal beach with 745 feet of ocean frontage, open picnic areas, oceanfront pavilion, showers, restrooms, lifeguard station and playground area. The Town has four passive parks which encompass 12 acres and provide shaded picnic areas with playground equipment and restrooms; a recreation center with four tennis courts, four shuffleboard courts and a barbecue pavilion with a picnic area; and a two-acre boat launching facility capable of a four boat capacity with a parking area.
The average price of a Lantana home is somewhere in the region of $500,000, but like many other cities in Lantana County there are Lantana homes for sale available in price ranges lower than that, some for under $200,000, as well as those Lantana that sell for several million dollars.
